Benefits of Flat Roofs

Some of the benefits of flat roofs include space optimization, durability, cost efficiency, and easy maintenance.

Flat or low-sloped roofs offer more space for rooftop HVAC units, extra storage units, and more.

The lifespan of a flat roof is typically between 20-25 years. These roofing systems are designed to withstand extreme weather including high winds, heavy rain, and hail which is essential in Kansas and Oklahoma.

The most important element of maintenance for flat or low-sloped roofs is keeping debris clear. Materials such as leaves, dirt, and other debris can collect on the surface of a flat roof, however simple sweeping a couple times each year is all that should be required.

Types of Flat Roofing Systems

Single-Ply Roofing

Single-ply membranes such as EPDM are made with a highly durable synthetic rubber membrane. These membranes are weather resistant and provide energy efficiency.

Modified Butimen

This type of roofing uses a combination of built up roofing and single-ply roofing. The build-up is made of different layers of materials, including the single-ply membrane layer. Asphalt and other materials can be used to help strengthen the roof.
